On September 28th, a rug of small plants will cover part of Plaça Nova in Barcelona, in front of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia, to give the starting signal for the 9th International Biennial of Landscape.
The installation POP UP GREEN, developed by the Biennial with the collaboration of Barcelona City Council, seeks interaction with citizens, who can take over 8,000 plants and leave them in other parts of the city, in order to design landscapes they imagine or demand.
In this way, the installation will be transformed in a social study that will lead to interventions on spaces with green cover, complaints of empty spaces, games with improvised nature and living installations.
This action of tactical urbanism, dressing in green Ciutat Vella’s heart, will serve as a starting point for the Barcelona International Biennial of Landscape Architecture through an event open to the public and designed to attract a non-specialized audience. The event will include the opening of two exhibitions organized within the framework of the Biennial: "Desemboscant", by Martí Boada, and the Barcelona Mapping, a projection on the model of the city about the development of open spaces in Barcelona.
The event will be followed by the presentation of landscape books, including the Catalogue of the 8th International Biennial of Landscape, published by Paysage.

En el marc del Congrés d’Arquitectura 2016 i seguint amb la intenció de prendre el pols als reptes de l’arquitectura, ara és el moment d’escoltar al sector dels mitjans, la crítica i la divulgació. "Arquitectura i nous mitjans" tindrà lloc el 15 de setembre, a les 12 h, a la seu del Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya (plaça Nova, 5).
Durant l'acte, moderat per Ethel Baraona, es debatrà sobre la influència dels mitjans digitals en l’arquitectura, com es difon i quina relació hi ha entre les diferents facetes dels arquitectes i els media. Es vol, així, poder parlar dels reptes de l’arquitectura des del punt de vista de la difusió. El format de la trobada pretén ser fresc i desenfadat, pel que es proposa fer un esmorzar/conversa entre els participants.

· José Juan Barba, director de la revista d’arquitectura, art i ciència "Metalocus".
· Lorenzo Barnó, soci de StepienyBarno i co-director del blog de Fundació Arquia.
· Edgar González, pioner en comunicació online sobre arquitectura a Espanya.
· Carlos Lanuza, redactor de la revista mexicana "Arquine".
· Leonardo Novelo, promotor del projecte editorial i blog "Inputmap".
· Lara Pérez-Porro, co-editora a Madrid de "Urban Living Lab".
· Jelena Prokopljevic, comissària del projecte "Aftermath" (Biennal de Venècia 2016). Combina la feina de comissariat i investigació amb la direcció del blog "La ciudad socialista".
