Award for the 'Avantgarde Tour', by Xavier Llobet and Marc Manzano
The G! Awards ceremony took place on December 11th. These awards are organized by the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board to recognize the work and career of professionals in the tourism sector. The President of the Generalitat, Artur Mas, chaired the event.
In their 9th edition, the project 'Avantgarde Tour: Cadaques-Tossa de Mar' was awarded an honorable mention in the category of tourism research. Architects Xavier Llobet and Marc Manzano are the authors of the project.
This tour proposes to establish a geographic link between the towns that hosted avantgarde painters, filmmakers and architects. That is the case, for example, of Cadaques (Dali), Ceret (Picasso), Mont-Roig (Miro) or Tossa (Boelitz, Chagall, Benedict, etc). Catalonia was historically one of the cradles of the 20th century avantgardes, as well as a welcoming place for many foreign artists.
The G! Awards were created in 2005 by the Tourism Board of the Girona Region with the aim of recognizing and rewarding best tourism professionals in Girona. At the same time, they also intend to encourage the dissemination of the region's resources and tourist attractions, and to promote scientific knowledge of tourism activity.
El COAC colabora en la exposición "Catalunya Ciutat(s)"
La exposición nace a partir de los cien años de la Mancomunitat de Catalunya, creada el 6 de abril de 1914 en el marco del Noucentisme. La creación de la Mancomunitat representa el inicio de los estudios territoriales en Catalunya.
'Catalunya Ciutat(s)', bajo el comisariado de Roger Subirà y Fernando Marzà, explora la relación entre las ciudades y el territorio que las acoge. Tomando el concepto noucentista de la “Catalunya Ciutat”, plantea un recorrido alrededor del desarrollo del hecho urbano en el territorio catalán, para acabar mirando hacia el futuro.
Entre las piezas del Archivo Histórico del COAC cedidas para la exposición, se incluyen una maqueta y un alzado de la Fuente Monumental para la Exposición Internacional de 1929, de Josep Maria Jujol; perspectivas en tinta y acuarela para el concurso para el Edifici Central de Correus i Telègrafs a Barcelona, de Pere Domènech; y perspectivas en lápiz y acuarela del Palau Nacional para la Exposición Internacional de 1929, de Pere Domènech, Pere Cendoya y Enric Catà.
El COAC col·labora en l'exposició "Catalunya Ciutat(s)"
L'exposició neix a partir dels cents anys de la Mancomunitat de Catalunya, creada el 6 d’abril de 1914 en el marc del Noucentisme. La creació de la Mancomunitat, ara fa cent anys, representa l’inici dels estudis territorials a Catalunya.

Projects selected for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2015
The European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe announced on December 16th the list of 420 projects competing for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2015.
Works nominated for the Prize are put forward by independent experts from all over Europe as well as by the member associations of the Architects’ Council of Europe, national architects’ associations, and the Advisory Committee of the Prize.
The 2015 edition of the Prize presents a novelty, the Young Talent Architecture Prize (YTAP) which will recognise the best master degree projects from Europe.

The aim of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award is to highlight recent, excellent examples of architectural creativity and to underline that modern architecture is socially and culturally rooted in European cities and is important to people's everyday lives.
