“Palabra de Pritzker”, editat per Anagrama, que reuneix converses amb 23 guanyadors del Premi Pritzker, des de Frank Gehry a Diébédo Francis Kéré, i també Alvaro Siza, Rafael Moneo, Renzo Piano, Norman Foster, Jacques Herzog o Kazuyo Sejima.
Llàtzer Moix és periodista cultural i crític d'arquitectura de La Vanguardia. Ha publicat, entre altres llibres, “La ciudad de los arquitectos”, “Arquitectura milagrosa”, “Queríamos un Calatrava” i “Palabra de Pritzker”
Presentation and resolution of doubts about the competition for the commission of the Congress of the UIA BCN 2026
The COAC will hold a meeting on Tuesday 11 July at 5.45 pm to give a detailed explanation of the competition to select the team of curators for the World Congress of Architects of the International Union of Architects (UIA) Barcelona 2026 and answer any possible questions about the process and the rules.
The event will be led by the dean of the COAC, Guillem Costa Calsamiglia and the coordinator of the organising committee for World Congress of Architects Barcelona UIA 2026, Roger Subirà. They will be accompanied by the chair of the CSCAE, Marta Vall-llossera, and Gemma Ferré, Greta Tresserra and Pep Quílez, the secretary and voting members of the Governing Board, respectively, who will explain the experience in Copenhagen. Finally, Albert Porta, the managing director of Pràctica, will also take part.
The event is mainly aimed at architects, but also at professionals from other disciplines who are interested in participating. One of the objectives of the Congress is to show architecture as a crosscutting tool for improving life in society, opening the door to creating multidisciplinary teams. Though always led by an architecture professional, these teams will also incorporate profiles from other spheres.
The meeting will end with a concert by Albert Bello & Oriol Saña Quartet, integrated by guitarist and soloist Albert Bello, with Oriol Saña on the violin, Quim Martínez on the rhythm guitar and Joan Motera on the double bass. The concert will take place on the eighth floor and begin at 7 pm.
You must register in advance to attend the meeting.
For the first stage, with a deadline of 7 September, the submissions must determine the theme, motto and objectives of the Congress and its thematic and content development. Five finalist submissions will be selected in this first round and they will have to make a final submission before 15 November. The members of the team will be studied, as well as their professional profiles and career paths. The winning team will be announced during December 2023.
The competition awards 150,000 euros in fees for the winning team. A financial compensation package of 6,000 euros is also planned for the teams that make it to the second round but are not selected as the winner.
A jury of renowned prestige
The members of the team of curators will be chosen by the administrations promoting it, together with a committee of renowned and prestigious experts formed by the following architects: Ángela García de Paredes, Beth Capdeferro[Lt1] , Carme Pigem, José María Sánchez, Josep Bohigas, Josep Ferrando, Josep Lluís Mateo, María Hurtado de Mendoza, Philip Ursprung and

Visita guiada a l'exposició "L'abric de les ruïnes"
“L’abric de les ruïnes” és una exposició sobre alguns esforços moderns i contemporanis per preservar el llegat del passat tal com apareix quan surt a la llum. A través d’una selecció de projectes arquitectònics internacionals, construïts des dels anys trenta del segle XX i sobretot al segle XXI, es mostra com s’han enfrontat al problema d’aixecar-se sobre el que va caure per tal de protegir-ho, per mantenir la imatge d’una ruïna que ja no s’entén com un ens destruït, sinó com una obra que ha adquirit una nova naturalesa.
La visita és gratuïta. Per assistir-hi cal estar a les 18.45 h a la porta d'entrada del Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria.
Concert de jazz al COAC, amb Albert Bello & Oriol Saña Quartet
Els integrants del quartet –Albert Bello, guitarra i solista; Oriol Saña, violí; Quim Martínez, guitarra rítmica, i Joan Motera, contrabaix– presentaran un concert que ens permetrà reviure el jazz dels anys 20, 30 i els inicis dels 40.
Mitjançant la seva actuació, ens traslladaran a l'època daurada del jazz a la ciutat de Barcelona, interpretant les melodies icòniques d'aquest període tan fascinant. Amb la selecció de temes, exploraran els diferents estils i corrents que van influir en la música jazz de Barcelona, amb l'esperit de preservar i honorar aquest ric patrimoni musical. El concert vol capturar l'essència i l'energia característiques de l'època i transportar-nos a un viatge en el temps, on podrem gaudir de l'atmosfera i l'emoció d'aquest gènere musical.
L'acte és gratuït.
La ciutat de Barcelona i el jazz
Durant la primera meitat dels anys 20 s'inicia l'arrelament del jazz a Barcelona. El 1929, amb ocasió de l'Exposició Universal de Barcelona, arriben a la ciutat agrupacions de jazz i artistes de renom que impulsen la música i el jazz Manouche, originari de França. Això permet als barcelonins gaudir d'aquesta música tan singular. Com a conseqüència d'aquest fenomen, Barcelona es converteix en la capital del Swing, amb violinistes com José Puertas i Bernard Hilda, procedents de París, o músics com Luís Duque i José Ribalta. A partir de 1947, amb l'adició de Tete Montoliu, les nits barcelonines no deixen de ballar i escoltar aquest estil musical rellevant, amb una gran importància social.
