Presentation of the verdict of the 2nd Mostra d’Arquitectura Internacional Catalana

On 20 April, at a public event held at the Architects’ Association, the most outstanding works selected in the 2nd Mostra d’Arquitectura Internacional Catalana (International Catalan Architecture Exhibition) were revealed. The exhibition’s purpose is to record, highlight and divulge the work of Catalan architects outside Spain in the last few years.

This year’s entries amounted to 33 works and projects, covering some 14 countries in Europe, Africa and America. Of these, the Jury selected 15, of which nine were given a special commendation.

The projects highlighted by the jury are:

During the event the Banc Sabadell Foundation Award for Innovation in Architecture was also announced, which was won by the Bodega project managed and coordinated by Edouard Cabay, Carles Sala and Relja Ferusic, and developed as part of the AAVS programme of the AA School of Architecture in London. The Banc Sabadell Foundation also gave a special mention to the Camina Tamshi project, a study on urban planning and gender perspective in Morocco by Dafne Saldaña, Julia Goula, Helena Cardona and Carla Amat.

The event also served as the launch pad for the third edition of the Mostra d'Arquitectura Internacional Catalana, a new feature this year being changes to the regulation of the Banc Sabadell Foundation Award.
