Exhibition "Imaginary Spaces"
Architect César Azcárate presents this photography exhibition where he turns abandoned spaces into new places, sometimes imaginary, sometimes possible spaces. Thus, with reference to empty buildings, the series "Imaginary Spaces" discusses the boundary between reality and imagination, using different angles and unusual views. New perspectives, forgotten spaces and the imaginary world are the three pillars of his work, highlighting the infinite capacity of suggestion of anonymous architecture.
Sometimes, real spaces captured by the camera in a certain position generate a sort of imaginary space. Sometimes, though, the need to create an imaginary place generates a space that could exist in reality. The coexistence of both strategies results in a collection of "imaginary spaces" in permanent process. Photography acts as a tool in the architect's passion for creating spaces. At the same time, it illustrates a tribute to the anonymous authors of these derelict sites, as a guarantee of eternal silence.
In the context of this exhibition, the architect will deliver a conference on January the 15th at 7.30 pm in the Demarcation Auditorium. At the end, there will be a dinner-debate with the speaker. Please confirm your attendance.
