The COAC takes part in the new exhibition at IDEAL, the Digital Arts Centre in Barcelona
The Historical Archive of the COAC is involved in the exhibition entitled 'Barcelona. A Photographic Memory', which opens at the Ideal Digital Arts Centre in Barcelona on 30 September. The exhibition plunges visitors into the Barcelona of the 50s and 60s through a series of images by some of the country's most renowned photographers turned into large-format projections on a 1,000 m2 screen.
Photographer Francesc Català-Roca, whose collection is held by the COAC's Historical Archive, is one of the stars of the exhibition at the Ideal, which will showcase some of his most iconic images.
In addition to the photographs provided by the COAC's Historical Archive, the exhibition is rounded off with other images by Xavier Miserachs, Oriol Maspons, Colita, Leopoldo Pomés and Joana Biarnés, taking visitors on a tour of such iconic locations as the Port of Barcelona, the Rambles, Montjuïc and the roof of La Pedrera. More than one hundred photographs turned into 360º large-format immersive images, virtual reality and interactive exhibits thanks to artificial intelligence.
The exhibition, which runs until 10 January 2021, is supported by a special catalogue and merchandising products.
