Conferencia de Xevi Bayona
Una conferencia presencial donde tendremos la oportunidad de escuchar al arquitecto Xevi Bayona, que nos hablará sobre la trayectoria del estudio y de sus proyectos más relevantes.
Bayona Studio es un taller y estudio en el centro de la ciudad de Olot, donde se trabaja con la experimentación y el ensayo como método, la crítica como aprendizaje, las emociones como herramienta, la interpretación y respecto del entorno social, físico y cultural, la ilusión e investigación intensa como combustible. Todo a caballo de la arquitectura, el urbanismo, el arte, el paisaje, las instalaciones efímeras y las esculturas lumínicas, una mezcla de disciplinas que se retroalimentan y se complementan las unas con las otras.
Xevi Bayona estudia desde pequeño en la escuela de Bellas artes de Olot y estudia arquitectura en Barcelona y en Portugal, en la FAUP, Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Oporto. Arquitecto por la Escuela Técnica de Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) con el PFC Biblioteca-Ludoteca a Espinho, Portugal. Posgrado de Paisajismo en la ETSAB y Máster en Teoría y Práctica del Proyecto Arquitectónico en la ETSAB con la tesina “La Girona dels Carrers-Escala”. Desde el 2008 profesor en la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universitat de Gerona. Desde el 2018 profesor en el máster internacional de arquitectura efímera de Elisava. Ganador de varios premios, entre los cuales tres premios FAD, varios proyectos finalistas y seleccionados, ganador de premios y menciones de arquitectura de las Comarcas de Gerona y ganador del concurso Changing Tracks, un proyecto europeo por realizar 3 instalaciones, en Cataluña, Inglaterra e Irlanda. Desde el 2017 colabora y realiza proyectos conjuntamente con Àlex Posada, MID Studio. Ha realizado obras civiles como la Rehabilitación del puente del Estado de Tortosa sobre el río Ebro, la rehabilitación de la zona deportiva de Sant Jaume de Llierca o el Ferial de Olot, así como obras de arquitectura habitacional. Ha dado conferencias, workshops y realizado intervenciones efímeras en varias ciudades Europeas.

A face-to-face conference where we will have the opportunity to listen to the architect Xevi Bayona, who will talk to us about the studio's trajectory and its most relevant projects.
Bayona Studio is a workshop and studio in the center of the city of Olot, where we work with experimentation and essay as a method, criticism as learning, emotions as a tool, the interpretation and respect of social, physical and cultural environment, enthusiasm and intense research as fuel. All straddling architecture, urban planning, art, landscape, ephemeral installations and light sculptures, a mix of disciplines that feed back and complement each other.
Xevi Bayona studied from an early age at the School of Fine Arts in Olot and studied architecture in Barcelona and in Portugal, at the FAUP, Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto. Architect for the Barcelona Technical School of Architecture (ETSAB) with the PFC Biblioteca-Ludoteca in Espinho, Portugal. Post Graduate Degree in Landscaping at ETSAB and Master in Theory and Practice of Architectural Design at ETSAB with the thesis "La Girona dels Carrers-Escala". Since 2008, professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Girona. Since 2018, professor at Elisava's international master's in ephemeral architecture. Winner of several awards, including three FAD awards, several finalist and selected projects, winner of architectural awards and mentions from the Regions of Girona and winner of the Changing Tracks competition, a European project to create 3 installations, in Catalonia, England and Ireland. Since 2017 he collaborates and realizes projects together with Àlex Posada, MID Studio. He has carried out civil works such as the Rehabilitation of the Tortosa State Bridge over the Ebro River, the rehabilitation of the Sant Jaume de Llierca sports area or the Olot Fair, as well as housing architecture works. He has given conferences, workshops and made ephemeral interventions in several European cities.

Una conferència presencial on tindrem l’oportunitat d’escoltar a l’arquitecte Xevi Bayona, que ens parlarà sobre la trajectòria de l’estudi i dels seus projectes més rellevants.

Construction vermouth V45 + Competition presentation Tarragona Port Authority
Guided visit to the rehabilitation of the office building of the former Headquarters of the Port Authority, work presented in the Rehabilitation category: Restoration, rehabilitation or reform works of the XII Alejandro de la Sota Biennial, by the architects Elisabet Prat Castellví and Anna Adserà Quesada, P+A Architects SCPP.
In the 1970s, Josep Maria Garreta designed the unique Brutalist-style building to house the Tarragona Port Authority Headquarters. The building was left in disuse for a few years because the offices were too small and they were moved. In an effort to preserve it, a comprehensive rehabilitation project was drawn up to bring it back to life.
It will also be submitted to the Tarragona Port Authority contest for technical assistance for the drafting of the urban transformation project around the APT headquarters, where we will have the intervention of the President of the Port of Tarragona, Saül Garreta Puig.
At the end, the traditional free vermouth will be served.
The visit will begin at 10:30 a.m. and we will meet in front of the offices of the Tarragona Port Authority.
