MORE THAN 300 ARCHITECTS HAVE RECEIVED FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND ADVICE FROM THE COAC SOC
Most of the professionals have requested help for economic reasons, well ahead of other cases such as situations of dependency, disability, long-term illness or mental health. The COAC SOC has awarded a total of 491 forms of financial support, of which 38% were direct loans, 49% were rebates on Association fees, and 13% were either in the form of debt forgiveness (6%) or extraordinary aid (7%).
Men accounted for 56% of the total number of requests for financial support, with woman accounting for the remaining 44%. By age group, 43% of the architecture professionals seeking the COAC SOC’s services were between 40 and 60, followed by those under 40, who account for 29%and, finally, those over 60, with 28%.
A service with a long history
The COAC SOC offers financial support, advice, personal counsel and professional guidance to Association members. It also wants to expand its objectives to include the promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation and other initiatives that will help ground the service and enhance its professional activity.

COAC ONCE AGAIN AT ARCHITECT@WORK BARCELONA
The Architects’ Association of Catalonia will again be present at Architect@Work Barcelona. This year’s trade show, which will take place on 15 and 16 March at the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB), will revolve around the theme “Natural Resources”.
Architect@Work has been held since 2003 in different European cities with the aim of publicising the latest trends in the sector, in a relaxed atmosphere that facilitates networking between professionals and companies. It includes a programme of side events with the participation of prominent speakers.
The COAC will there with a stand that aims to highlight the role of architecture in improving people’s health and the energy efficiency of buildings. The COAC Building Rehabilitation Technical Office will be there to offer information on NextGenerationEU funds for the rehabilitation of homes. In addition, as part of the show’s programme of events, the COAC is holding the conference “Decarbonising Architecture”, by Albert Cuchí, president of the Architecture and Sustainability Association (AuS).
COAC conference: Decarbonising Architecture
Decarbonisation is a decisive challenge facing our society, and architecture is no stranger to this: there will be no transition to a decarbonised society without an energy-efficient building stock. The conference, which will be held on 16 March 16 at 6 pm, wants to show how decarbonisation is changing the profession and the leadership role we as architects have to assume.
Through its participation in the event, the COAC hopes to continue working to make the profession a determining asset. It already began working towards this objective, and the Sustainable Development Goals, when it first organised the “Decarbonising Architecture” conference last November, which was well attended.

El COAC participa de nuevo en la feria Architect@Work Barcelona
Un año más, el Colegio de Arquitectos de Cataluña participa en la feria ArchitectAtWork Barcelona. La edición de este año, que tendrá lugar los días 15 y 16 de marzo en el Centro de Convenciones Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB), girará alrededor del tema "Recursos Naturales".
ArchitectAtWork se realiza desde el 2003 en diferentes ciudades europeas con el objetivo de dar a conocer las últimas tendencias del sector, en un ambiente distendido que facilita el networking entre profesionales y empresas. El evento se acompaña, además, de un programa de actos paralelos con la participación de destacados ponentes.
El COAC estará presente con un stand que quiere destacar el papel de la arquitectura para mejorar la salud de las personas y la eficiencia energética de los edificios. Para ello, contaremos con la participación de la Oficina Técnica de Rehabilitación del COAC, que ofrecerá información sobre las ayudas de los Fondos Next Generation para la rehabilitación de viviendas. Además, en el marco del programa de actos de la feria, el Colegio organiza la conferencia 'Descarbonizando la Arquitectura', a cargo de Albert Cuchí, presidente de la Agrupación Arquitectura y Sostenibilidad (AuS).
Conferencia del COAC: 'Descarbonizando la Arquitectura'
La descarbonización es un reto decisivo al que se enfrenta nuestra sociedad, y la arquitectura no le es ajena: no habrá transición hacia una sociedad descarbonizada sin un parque edificado energéticamente eficiente. La conferencia, que se celebrará el 16 de marzo a las 18 h, quiere mostrar cómo la descarbonización está cambiando nuestra profesión y cómo nos enfrentaremos a este reto desde un programa ambicioso que nos implica a todos, con el rol de liderazgo que hemos de asumir los arquitectos.
Con su participación, el COAC quiere continuar trabajando para que la profesión sea un activo determinante. Con este objetivo, y en la línea de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible, el COAC ya organizó el pasado mes de noviembre la jornada "Descarbonizando la Arquitectura", con gran éxito de participación.
