Conference | Necropolis Rehabilitation
The Necropolis of Tarraco, one of the best-known and best-preserved late Roman cemeteries of the Roman Empire, is immersed in an ambitious comprehensive rehabilitation project.
Under the direction of the National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona (MNAT), the team of Tarragona architects Urbana Strata (composed of Pau Jansà, Genís Boix, Amàlia Jansà, Andreu Pont, Manuel Prieto and Eduard Polo) have opted for the reintroduction of the site into the urban fabric. A project that also aims to transform the surroundings of the Necropolis, as well as promote the history of Tarraco and a new centrality in Tarragona.
In this conference, we will learn about the details of the rehabilitation and how it will affect the accesses and surroundings of the site, its gardens, the museum building and also part of the Tabacalera estate.

Conferència: Rehabilitació Necròpolis
La Necròpolis de Tàrraco, un dels cementiris tardoromans millor coneguts i conservats de l’Imperi romà, es troba immersa en un ambiciós projecte de rehabilitació integral.
A partir de la direcció del Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona (MNAT), l’equip d’arquitectes tarragonins Urbana Strata (format per Pau Jansà, Genís Boix, Amàlia Jansà, Andreu Pont, Manuel Prieto i Eduard Polo) han apostat per la reintroducció del jaciment a la trama urbana. Un projecte que vol suposar també una transformació de l’entorn de la Necròpolis, així com potenciar la història de Tàrraco i una nova centralitat a Tarragona.
En aquesta conferència, coneixerem els detalls de la rehabilitació i com afectarà els accessos i entorn del jaciment, els seus jardins, l’edifici del museu i també part de la finca de Tabacalera.
